Later this year, Toyota will enter the 2015 Tundra TRD Pro Series into the 47th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 in the Full Size Stock Class. The race will take place November 12-16 in Ensenada, Mexico. Drivers include Ted Moncure, Andy Bell, Jamie Bestwick, and Ryan Millen.
While Moncure and Bell have both won the 500 class championship, only Moncure has claimed the victory in the SCORE Baja 1000. Bestwick, a pro BMW Vert Rider and nine-time X-Games winner, along with Millen who has competed in the race before, will be looking for a win. "Competing in the Full Size Stock class allows our team to test the Tundra TRD Pro as close to stock as possible and showcase its strength and durability in the Mexican desert's treacherous terrain.
Our goal is to finish this grueling race and to showcase just how awesome the new TRD Pro Series trucks are," said Andrew Franceschini, Toyota truck marketing and communications national manager. The TRD Pro Desert Race Team will be rounded out with Mike Sweers, Chief Engineer of Toyota Trucks as navigator, and the team coach will be Ivan "Ironman" Stewart, a former Toyota Off-Road Racer and Off-Road Hall of Fame Member. With the 22-time SCORE Baja 500 and 1000 champion at the helm, Toyota is set up for success.
